The sad thing about this, really, is that even I knew it was photoshopped when I first saw the original picture and I’m not even an eagle-eyed netizen.

Manwon Happiness

I miss Manwon Happiness. I loved that variety show. I wish it still aired. It was a show where two celebrities survive a week on roughly $10 for food. If they eat, they have to pay a ridiculously high price. It’s hilarious.

I suppose that show wouldn’t be acceptable now with people already concerned over their deathly skinny idols starving themselves.

H.O.T.'s Tony An ♥ Girls' Day's Hyeri

image

I didn’t think much about this couple. It feels like there’s been a new celebrity couple every other week that I barely glanced that this couple. They have a 16 year age gap. Wow. Okay, moving on.

All the hate.

Don’t get me wrong. I love bashing the next celebrity as much as the next hate-filled netizen. This couple was unexpected and the age gap was quite surprising, but so what? There are people out there with large age gaps who are living happily together and are more happy together than couples with “normal” age gaps.

This is my opinion considering they truly are seeing each other purely out of “love”.

If they like each other than who cares? That’s what people who defend same-sex marriage say. As long as they love each other, who cares? Who are we to say who can and cannot marry? Leave them alone, they have the same rights as anybody. Let them be be together. I guess that thought process doesn’t work here.

Is the age gap that disgusting? I checked. She’s legal. How many noona fans out there wouldn’t jump at male idols who are minors? There sure are a lot of scenarios with those little kids.

If you’re that repulsed about the large age gap, go do something about forced child marriages in third world countries.

Taemin on WGM Rant (Part Two)

LOOOOL. I just read this lovely article, and it’s making me pissed off again. What the hell do you mean “vibe of first love”? I think your show’s name is “We Got Married” not “My First Love”. I get it’s a fake couple and onscreen yeah yeah. Well, I think Taemin doesn’t need to go play fake lovey dovey in order to become even more popular. He is already super succesful and well known in the kpop industry. Also the part about no dating experience, well duh. Like idols have time to go around dating all the time. And talking about their school experiences means they have something in common? Zelo and I must be a match made in heaven since we both like white. Ugh, I just hate We Got Married with a passion.

To the PD:

Taemin on WGM!!? UGH

image
DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAI. WE GOT MARRIED JUST DOESN’T STOP. I was already super bummed out about Hongki being on the show, NOW TAEMIN? SHINee’s maknae and baby Taemin? (Well he’s all grown up and more mature now but still super duper cute) WHY TAEMIN. WHY NOT PICK SOMEONE I DON’T CARE ABOUT?! Or pick someone older, like Onew! Not that I want him on the show, in fact, I don’t want ANY SHINee member on WGM. I’m just a selfish fangirl that loves the fact that they are single. Even a fake marriage is unacceptable. Yes, I’m being unsupportive and I will complain like crazy. When I read the confirmation article on allkpop I was swearing like a sailor. I HATE WGM more than ever. I just can’t enjoy it. At all. If they want to make idols act like they are married why not just shoot a drama? Idols are already taking over actors’ jobs anyways. Sigh, Taemin is really growing up. I still remember when they debuted and he was so shy and girly and adorable. Now he is getting FREAKING MARRIED. NO. I REFUSE TO ACCEPT. WGM IS JUST RUINING EVERYTHING. Who’s next? Another bias of mine? I hope I won’t have a series of WGM rants, har.

K-POP Rant: Controversial MV Scenes

I recently came across this lovely article about M.I.B’s controversial car scene in their MV.

Oh no, one of the members is exposing his upper body by standing in the car. Dear God. Not that. Anything but that. Our children will die.

I’m not defending M.I.B personally because honestly, I didn’t know they existed until about 12 hours ago and I do not care about them in the slightest.

I know there’s tons of scenes that are deemed controversial by netizens and other mysterious figures other than M.I.B’s. I know that children mimicking them could be dangerous, but they’re children. Cars have something called brakes to stop the car and parents have something called authority to make their children sit down.

This article irked me. How is that scene controversial and PSY’s Gentleman MV a gift sent from musical gods? I’m honestly not trying to hate PSY, but I can’t help comparing. In PSY’s whole MV, they’re treating a girl with absolutely not respect. I guess kids aren’t going to watch this viral MV and think pulling someone’s seat away from them would be funny.

I would have just kept the car scene.

First Impression: PSY's Gentleman MV

image

Okay. Let’s do this. Mr. Gangnam Style is back.

image
Old men nodding their heads to the music. I approve. Go old men, go. They look so bad ass.

image
He’s definitely aware of what parts of the Gangnam Style MV people enjoyed the most. Still trying to run on the Gangnam Style wave.

image
Just a question. Was there no bathroom on that floor? Just press the button for the next floor. It has to stop there first.

image
The way he ate the noodles looked amazingly delicious. After having to pause to get a screenshot of it, no, not delicious anymore. Gross.

image
Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Overall: The MV and the song wasn’t worth the hype and anticipation to me. The MV was entertaining because it’s different from most kpop MVs but it was still meh. I liked the song more than Gangnam Style because of 알랑가 몰라. Better than mother father gentleman. I should be supportive of a fellow Korean being recognized in America, but I hope this isn’t going to be Gangnam Style part 2. People had to notice the Brown Eyed Girls’ Abracadabradance. Regardless of whether he got their permission or it wasn’t plagiarized or it’s a tribute to them or whatever nonsense…why. He was already accused of stealing the “horsey dance”. Come up with something on your own so people like me won’t nitpick about it. Long story short. Everything was meh. I didn’t like it at all, but that’s just me. Others seem to love it to death.

Hongki on WGM?!! DAI.

image

Lee Hongki, leader of FT Island. My baby. He stole my heart ever since I heard him sing. His smile kills me all the time. He makes me wanna kidnap him when he played Jeremy in You're Beautiful.
He is mine, in my fangirl dreams ofc. THEN WE GOT MARRIED SHATTERS MY DREAM INTO A TRILLION PIECES.

NO. NOOO. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. (┛◉Д◉)┛彡┻━┻.

image

I never liked We Got Married, I think it’s a stupid show. The idea of making two strangers pretend they just got married is dumb. Play fake lovey dovey and all that crap. I mean they did make some good couples, like the Adam couple. But it gets upsetting when they put my bias on the show. At least they picked a pretty girl, even though it crushes my little heart even more. TT_TT HOOONGKI

They better not ever ever ever EVER touch SHINee, EXO, or BAP members.

K-POP Rant: Idol or Artist

I recently came across this article that talks about SNSD’s Sooyoung wanting to be called an artist rather than an idol.

I’m sorry. No K-pop celebrity will ever be an artist. You’re either an idol or a singer. My definition of an artist does not involve music. My definition of musician does not include singers. I’ve read that someone’s definition of an artist is someone who freely creates and since Sooyoung has written a song she can be considered as one. Oh please.

You’re an idol if you’re in a young, talentless group singing cutesy songs while wearing provocative clothes to further entice with their bodies as if the dance wasn’t enough. Very general idea.

You’re a singer if you have a talent in singing. Oh my bias can sing. If you can sing better then post it on YouTube. I don’t see you on the music programs. People need to realize the difference between singing well and being a singer. If you can’t tell that apart, I can’t communicate with you.

There are some people in idol groups who are above the idol status, but lower than the singer status. They’ll always be in between because they’re part of an idol group so I’ll always see them as an talented idol. No, that doesn’t mean I think the main vocals in every group are talented.

Going back to SNSD. They’re one of SM Entertainment’s best profitable creations. Oh hey, looks like SM is an artist since it created SNSD. They’re completely SM style. The girls can “sing”, but singers? Hardly. Therefore, idol. Some of them get 2 second lines per song. What is their purpose in the group? Dancer? Visual? Filling up space? Oh, but Taeyeon’s the main vocalist. Other singers respect her. I acknowledge her singing, but to me, she’s an idol.

I just couldn’t hold in my scoff when I read the article. What’s there to debate? They’re idols. End of story.

This is all a very unorganized rant, but I was so amused that Sooyoung would think SNSD could be called an artist. My respect for idols is tiny to none. SNSD is an idol.
